SPLA-NORTH REPELS ATTACK ON AL-AMRA

The SPLA forces repelled an attack by the Sudanese army to take control of Al-Amra, in Nuba Mountains.

SPLM-North spokesperson Mohammedin Ibrahim said that SAF, the Sudan Armed Forces, organized an attack on Saturday morning to take control of Al-Amra.

The spokesperson said SAF forces lost 28 men and a big number were injured.

He added that the SPLA captured a tank and some ammunition from SAF troops.

Mr. Ibrahim said the enemy forces are trying to open a way between Mendi and Kalogi to evacuate its own forces but they face fierce resistance from the SPLA.

The spokesperson said he has not have details about the shelling that was going on this morning in Mendi and Talodi areas.
