A member of parliament representing Yei at the National Legislative Assembly condemned last week’s killing of a money exchanger.
Moses Bidali Onesmo condemned the killing of Henry Khamis by Lieutenant John Panther Kuet on Thursday morning in Yei’s Mahad area, Easter Radio reported.He urged the courts to try cases quickly in order for people not to take justice into their hands.
The MP said the attack was very serious and condemned those who use guns to intimidate people.
Mr. Bidali said this was the fifth time a security person shot a civilian in Yei and residents are tired of such incidents.
The MP said the suspect should be brought to court to face the full power of justice.
Mr. Bidali added that the family should not try an out-of-court settlement.
