BUSINESSMAN SHOT DEAD IN YEI

Activities in Yei town came to a standstill after a businessman was shot dead today early in the morning.

Yei County Inspector of Crime Martin Izzy told Radio Easter that Henry Khemis, 28, a currency exchanger residing in Mahad area, was on his way from home to the town at 7:30 AM when was killed by a single shot.

Mr Izzy said the Police was coordinating with the headquarters of the President to arrest the unknown culprit.

The Inspector added that it is not clear whether it is money the issue that caused the killing.

He said preliminary investigations into the shooting are still going on.

Mr Izzy appealed to the citizens of Yei to respect the rule of law, avoid unnecessary use of firearms and resolve issues peacefully.
