The Cuban ambassador to Ethiopia is in Juba to find ways of how her government can cooperate with South Sudan.

Addressing the press this afternoon at the SPLM headquarters, Clara Philido said Cuba has experience in developments in agriculture, health, education and infrastructure among others.

She added that Cuba has relationships and agreements of cooperation with almost all African Union members.

Ms. Phillido clarified that Cuba is not interested in South Sudan’s resources but only to help.

Cuba has offered support through trainings in the areas of education and health to East Timor, Ghana, Angola among others.

Relations between South Sudan and Cuba started way back during the war when the Cuban government offered to educate thousands of South Sudanese.
