The President of the Republic praised the people of South Sudan and urged them to maintain the determination that brought Independence after years of struggle.
Salva Kiir Mayardit made these comments on Sunday while addressing participants at the closure of a three-day conference organized in Juba by the Catholic Church.He said the people of South Sudan are now respectable citizens wherever they go and they should be proud of the achievement.
The President noted that although the CPA brought much celebration and hope among South Sudanese, it faced a lot of challenges. He urged his citizens to work hard and over come these obstacles.
President Kiir thanked the citizens for voting SPLM during the April elections; a move he said was wise.
