The three-day Symposium on the Church in South Sudan and the Sudan that kicked off yesterday in Juba is an experience of togetherness and unity.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro said during the opening mass that although South Sudan and Sudan are two countries, the Church is one and the symposium is an experience of unity and togetherness.

During his opening speech, Archbishop Lukudu encouraged the participants in the Symposium to learn more about their mission of reconciliation, forgiveness and love.

Archbishop Lukudu told the participants that the many tribes in South Sudan are a gift from God and urged them to stand together as one Church.

More than 500 people turned up for the Symposium One Church from every Tribe, Tongue and People from Past to Future that is taking place in Nyakuron Cultural Centre, in Juba.

Yesterday’s session was about the past: three historians revisited the history of South Sudan and of its Church together with the involvement of the Comboni Family.

Today’s session concentrates on the present.
