The SPLM will not take part in the elections of South Kordofan State and is advising its supporters to stay away from the polls in April 11 2010.

Ramadan Ali Kodi is a member of the SPLM caucus in Heban County, Southern Kordofan State. He told Radio Voice of Peace that his party will not contest the elections in the state.

Mr. Ramadan explained that the voters register was full of mistakes and voters had only two places where to check their personal data.

He added that the SPLM does not agree with the number of geographical constituencies in the area since the registered voters are many more than the adult population counted in the 2008 census.

Mr. Ramadan said that if the SPLM does not take part in the general elections it does not allow other parties to campaign in Southern Kordofan.

He added that the SPLM has dismissed ten of its officials from South Kordofan State because they were acting against the party’s interests.
