The government of South Sudan has denied allegations that it is employing expatriates from neighbouring countries.

National minister for Labour and Public Service Awut Deng Acuil said the government of South Sudan is not employing foreigners, Bakhita Radio reported.

Mama Awut explained that there are a number of doctors from three IGAD countries in South Sudan but they are paid by their own governments.

The minister said South Sudan should not forget the efforts made by foreigners to welcome Southerners that were scattered all over the world.

Mama Awut made these statements this morning while being greeted at the ministry by her staff.

She was sworn in yesterday in Juba after spending some time in Nairobi for medical treatment.
