CATTLE RAIDERS STILL IN UNITY STATE

Cattle raiders yesterday were still active in Mayendit County of Unity State putting the local population in grave danger.

A local source told SCR News via e-mail that raiders from Warrap State took thousands of cattle and displaced a huge number of residents from their homes.

Chief Michael Luony Phat said at least 30 people were killed in the raids including eight children, nine men and 13 women.

Almost 50 people are still missing and there is a number of wounded.

Chief Luony added that yesterday raiders were still attacking Mayardit County.

The attackers are wearing military or civilians clothes and carry heavy guns including AK 47’s and RPGs.

The chief asked the SPLA to deploy soldiers along the border with Warrap State to stop cattle raiding and prevent the killing of more innocent people.
