SPEAKER APPOINTS NEW NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CLERK

The Speaker of the National Legislative Assembly has appointed a new Clerk who was unanimously passed by the legislators.

James Wani Igga yesterday issued a decree relieving the former clerk Mark Nyikang Yomon and reappointing him as adviser to the speaker.

Othom Rago Ajak is the new clerk of South Sudan National Assembly.

He was sworn in this morning and approved by the parliament with a clap of hands.

The Clerk of the Assembly is the General Administrator providing day-to-day leadership.

The parliament also passed today the second reading of the Badges and Insignia Bill 2011.
