The stations from the Sudan Catholic Radio Network are a contribution of the Church towards the democracy in South Sudan, the information minister said.
Auxiliary Bishop Santo Loku Pio of Juba visited today the minister for information Barnaba Marial Benjamin to invite him to take part and give a talk during the Symposium on the Catholic Church in South Sudan next month.He also informed the minister about the latest developments in the Sudan Catholic Radio Network (SCRN) that opened recently Radio Anisa in Yambio and is making Voice of Hope operational in Wau.
Dr. Marial thanked the Catholic Church for the eight stations it operates in South Sudan under the SCRN umbrella.
He said they are a contribution to build a democratic state in South Sudan and encouraged the Church to build more free independent radio stations.
Dr. Marial praised the great contribution of the Church during the struggle and its role now in the ongoing process of reconciliation.
The minister lauded the progress of the Catholic Church is South Sudan under the leadership of Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro and its moral contribution to South Sudan.
Dr. Marial said he would participate in the Symposium that takes place in Juba from October 13 t0 15.
