Parents in Yei, Lainya and Morobo counties have been urged to promote girl child education by sending their daughters to school.

Anita Henderlight, Executive director of Africa Eli, told Easter Radio that girls and boys deserve equal attention in terms of education opportunities.

She appealed to parents to involve their children in voluntary community activities to prepare them for a better future.

Kenneth Wani, who owns a private school, appealed to parents in the three counties to value the education of their children because it is a long term investment.

Ms. Henderlight was speaking to over 40 students who excelled at school.

They did voluntary service and cleaned the premises and staff offices of Maratha Clinic last Friday.

Africa Eli is a nongovernmental organization fighting illiteracy through scholarships.
