The Mayor of Rumbek has banned the exhibition of pornographic films and cattle keeping in town and asked residents to keep their places clean to curb diseases.
Mabor Chawuop told journalists yesterday that the anti-pornography order stops the exposure of people to immoral films.He added that pornographic films shown to public ruin the minds of the people and increases immorality in the society.
Mr. Chawuop also prohibited people to keep cattle in town.
He said the animals cause a lot of confusion in town, including accidents.
He added that once some cows roaming free invaded the Rumbek airstrip area nearly causing a plane crash.
Mr. Chawuop issued a stern warning against those who are not keeping their surroundings clean.
He ordered residents and businesspeople to keep their premises clean and fill holes to reduce the spread malaria and diarrhoea.
The Mayor said anyone violating these orders will face the full force of the law.
