TORIT BISHOP URGES PEOPLE TO TRUST IN GOD

The Catholic Bishop of Torit has called on the people of South Sudan to trust in God to ensure peace in the new nation.

Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek delivered his message to the Catholic community through Vicar General Celestino Muras.

Fr. Celestino read the Bishop’s message at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Church on Sunday during the celebration of its patron saint.

Bishop Akio said peace comes through sacrifice, patience and trust in God

He urged the people of Eastern Equatoria to maintain their unity with divergent opinions in order to remain exemplary to other states.

The Bishop of Torit who has been on medical treatment in India asked God to bless the people back home.

He also expressed gratitude for the support he received in various ways.

Bishop Akio announced he will fly from India to Nairobi this month after a successful kidney transplant.
