Eastern Equatoria state minister for culture and social development warned parent who neglect their children.
Magdalene Beato Atul issued the warning while addressing the press saying the government will punish parents who do not take full responsibility of their children.She stressed that as future leaders of the nation, the government will not allow children to be mistreated by careless parents.
Ms. Beato made the comment followed reception of two children in the department of child welfare in the ministry.
She revealed that one girl child, was used as compensation for murder and a six year old boy alleged to have been abducted from Juba by a man in Magwi County.
Ms.Beato explained that boy has been handed to UNICEF to trace his parents in central Equatoria state.
The minister acknowledged that no investigation has been carried out on how the boy was abducted.
