SPLM LIBERATION COUNCIL SUSPENDS ELECTION OF SECRETARY GENERAL IN TORIT

The election of Eastern Equatoria state SPLM party secretary general scheduled for saturday has been postponed.

The state party chairman Louis Lobong Lojore who is also the state governor said the suspension of the elections follows a report from the party headquarters in Juba.

He said the SPLM plans to restructure the system from the lower levels to the national leadership adding that members of the state Liberation Council should wait for the general restructuring to fill in the vacant posts.

Mr. Lobong revealed that the state Liberation Council confirmed acting secretary general Okanyi Felix Remijo to continue serving in the office while Onek Bensio replaces Anisia Achieng as secretary for political affairs.

He called upon SPLM members to mobilize and register more members.
