The business community should take advantage of the remaining days to change their old money before the deadline expires on September 1.
The appeal comes from Eastern Equatoria currency committee chairman Charles Odwar, Emmanuel Radio reported. He cautioned that large amounts of old Sudanese pounds are still in circulation in South Sudan.
Mr. Odwar said the Eastern Equatoria committee created 48 exchange centres and mobile teams and people should use them to change the old pounds into new South Sudanese pounds.
He explained that the committee experienced some logistical challenges to reach Kuron, Nyangachor, and Lotimor but a SPLA helicopter was used to overcome the problem.
Mr. Odwar said the currency exchange committee formed two teams operating in Greater Kapoeta and in Greater Torit areas, aiming to complete the exercise in the remote parts of the state before the deadline.
