US SPECIALISTS PROVIDE EYE CARE SERVICES TO OVER 300 YEI RESIDENTS

At least 300 people in Yankonye and Jombu, Yei River County, Central Equatoria State received free eye check ups and glasses courtesy of a visiting team of US eye specialists.

An eye specialist, Dwight Joy, told the press during the outreach eye clinic conducted yesterday in Yankonye village, Yei Payam, that poor sight problems are due to inadequate feeding, dusty conditions and old age.

The specialist advised people to take a balanced diet in their daily feeding so as to minimize problems of poor eye sight.

The team leader, Moody Adams, told Radio Emanuel reporter in Yankonye the specialists have also the mission to spread the Gospel in addition to offering free eye care services to the needy members of the community.

Mr. Adams added that the team has also established Bible skills Institutes in over 70 African nations including South Sudan, Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya among others.
He further disclosed that the institutions were aimed at encouraging people to promote Christian life style.

Alfred Mendis Arona, a priest in Minyori, praised the visiting specialists for the good gesture.

He added that the free eye glasses would help the beneficiaries to read the Bible and to strengthen their faith.
