The South Sudan Bureau for Community Security and Small Arms Control (CSSAC) proposes securing South Sudan free of arms.

The Bureau held a one-day workshop to device ways of educating the community to control illegal arms in the hands of the unauthorized persons.

Central Equatoria state minister of legal affairs Ajonye Perpetua told the press that the workshop was aimed at finding reasons why communities want to keep illegal weapons.

She called on the local and international NGOs to support CSSAC to find the root causes for holding guns.

She urged the communities to live in peaceful coexistence and focus on development instead.

CSSAC director Christo Simon said the workshop was aimed at informing the partners about the role the Bureau plays in regional disarmament projects and identify areas of intervention.

The one-day workshop brought participants from across the country to Juba.
