The governments of Khartoum and Juba have agreed to settle all post independence issues until the end of September.

Delegations from the governments of Sudan and South Sudan met in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, to carry on with negations on pending issues.

Pagan Amum, who leads South Sudan’s negotiating team, told the press in Juba today upon is arrival from Addis Ababa that the two delegations approved an agreement that will pave the way for better relations between the two states.

He cited oil and currency as some of the issues that will be agreed upon before the end of September.

Mr. Amum said the two teams agreed to set up a committee with members from the two central banks to oversee the replacement of Sudanese Pound by the new currencies.

The committee that starts working tomorrow will ensure that the old pound is not dumped in any of the two countries.

Mr. Amum said issues related to obligations on wealth sharing have been also discussed.
