SOUTH SUDAN PLEDGES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO SUDAN

South Sudan pledged to assist the Sudan with financial support to help its economy recover from oil revenue losses.

Caretaker Minister for Peace and CPA Implementation Pagan Amum told reporters today that Sudan and South Sudan representatives discussed the issue during the post-independence negotiations that took place in Ethiopian capital.

He said South Sudan and other countries will help Khartoum to deal with the economic chock from oil revenue losses.

Mr. Amum said in turn Khartoum should return Abyei to the South and demarcate the border as it stood in January 1, 1956.

He underlined that his government looks forward to building positive relations with Khartoum to achieve a peacefully co-existence.
