The Central Bank of South Sudan has shortened the currency conversion period to one and a half months.
The Bank announced that all Sudanese Pounds have to be changed into South Sudanese Pound until September 1, 2011.It added that from the beginning of September the Sudanese Pound will have no value.
Individuals or companies with more than 50,000 Sudanese Pounds in cash have been advised to open bank accounts and deposit the money there.
All funds held in bank accounts are exchanged automatically.
