The President of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference Wako recommended that the people of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek emulate their late bishop Caesar Mazzolari.
Cardinal Gabriel Zubeir sent his message through his assistant Bishop Daniel Adwok of Khartoum.
Bishop Adwok said Cardinal Zubeir asked him to assure the people of Rumbek diocese of his prayerful closeness during this period of mourning for their late bishop.
He encouraged those in different responsibilities in Rumbek diocese to reach out to those they are called to serve dutifully.
He urged the Church personnel to continue proclaiming the risen Lord in their various departments like education, health, pastoral and formation.
Late bishop Mazzolari was laid to rest inside his Cathedral in Rumbek on Monday evening.
The official funeral celebration will take place tomorrow at 10 AM.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro of Juba will preside over the funeral mass.
Relatives of the late bishop together with bishops, priests and religious arrived today in Rumbek ahead of the funeral mass.
