The president of the republic has been receiving congratulations from foreign diplomats, civil society organizations and community groups.
Salva Kiir Mayardit assured the diplomats of South Sudan’s commitment to international laws and enhancement of better cooperation with the outside world.Various traditional dancers presented congratulations to President Kiir.
Makario Taban, a traditional dancer from Eastern Equatoria, said his community is in Juba to congratulate President Kiir for leading South Sudan to freedom.
Lunjok Malou Sargo, another dancer from Unity State, said his community congratulated President Kiir for hard won freedom for the people of South Sudan.
The state governors of the Republic of South Sudan were also present during the celebration.
