The University of Juba will not open this year even after the budget for all South Sudanese universities was released due to lack of enough human and physical resources.
Finance Secretary in the Juba University Students’ Union Bagura Abraham told SCR News today that it is technically impossible for the university to operate this year due to lack of lecturers and lecture halls. He said the Union sees that it is impractical that the university will open at any time this year due to lack of science facilities and accommodation for lecturers and students.
Mr. Bagura added that the students’ body is putting pressure on the administration to start constructing halls and accommodation facilities.
He explained that the university’s administration closed down the institution because of there was no budget.
Mr. Bagura added that since the money was released there had not been any indication that the university will open.
