The Catholic University of South Sudan (CUofSS) will launch its Strategic Plan 2026–2031 on October 30, 2026, at a ceremony presided over by His Eminence Cardinal Stephen Ameyu Martin Mulla, President of the Sudan and South Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference and Chancellor of the University.

The launch marks the University’s renewed commitment to delivering quality higher education through public-private partnerships, market-driven academic programmes, and strengthened teaching, research, innovation, and community outreach.

The event will take place at the University’s campus in Juba Na Bari, along Kololo Road, starting at 2:00 p.m.

Ahead of the launch, Cardinal Ameyu will bless the foundation stone of a new multipurpose hall dedicated to the late Fr. Prof. Michael Schultheis, S.J., the University’s first Vice-Chancellor, in recognition of his contribution to the institution.

The occasion will also feature a panel discussion at St. Bakhita Hall, bringing together experts from various sectors to explore the role of higher education in South Sudan’s development.

The panellists will include Dr. Labanya Margret Mathya, Minister of Trade; Mr. William Ngabonziza, Country Managing Director of Inkomoko; representatives of the Japanese Embassy and the Strømme Foundation; and Mr. Lemi Stephen, Managing Director of Point Investment.

The Caretaker Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Gen. Augustino Jadalla, is also expected to attend and deliver remarks.

Other expected participants include senior government officials from the national and state levels, representatives of diplomatic missions, educational institutions, and development organisations.

The launch is expected to underscore higher education’s critical role in developing skills, fostering innovation, strengthening strategic partnerships, and advancing South Sudan’s social and economic development.
