The Ministry of General Education and Instruction in Western Bahr el Ghazal State has directed all primary and secondary schools to complete the 2026 academic year by the end of October.

Speaking to Voice of Hope Radio, the ministry’s Director General, Juma Suleiman, said all academic activities for pupils from Primary One to Primary Seven and students from Senior One to Senior Three must be completed within the stipulated period.

Suleiman said schools are also required to issue report cards to the respective classes before November to allow candidates sufficient time to prepare for their national examinations.

He explained that November has been designated for national examinations for Primary Eight and Senior Four candidates, urging school administrations to ensure that students are adequately prepared.

The Director General called on all schools to adhere to the ministry’s academic calendar and complete any outstanding academic activities within the set timeframe.

He further emphasized the need for school administrators to provide examination candidates with adequate preparation ahead of the national examinations.

The directive comes as schools across Western Bahr el Ghazal State prepare to conclude the 2026 academic year and transition to the national examination period.
