More than 58 thousand internally displaced persons living in the SPLM-North controlled areas of Southern Kordofan State are in need of food.
Save the Children- Sweden officer in Nuba Mountains, Kandi Khalil, said the number of the people who are currently in need of food is 58,479.
He added that his NGO lacks means of transport and security to carry food items to the locations where the IDPs are.
He explained that Save rhe Children has managed to reach the majority of IDPs in different localities.
Mr. Khalil said people should be patient in the areas that NGOs have not reached yet.
He appealed to the village leaders to be helpful and cooperative to assist his counterparts in the distribution of food to the IDPS in various counties.
