Elijah Malouk, the president of Bank of South Sudan, has been appointed acting governor of the new Central Bank of South Sudan.
Government’s spokesperson Barnaba Marial Benjamin told journalists yesterday after the first meeting of the council of minister that President Salva Kiir Mayardit endorsed Malouk to act as the governor of the new Central Bank of South Sudan.Dr. Marial added that the President stressed the need to launch the new South Sudan Pound on Monday.
Prsident Kiir told the Cabinet that he will be the first citizen to go to the Bank on Monday to change his money.
