A major in the military police was shot this afternoon in Juba.
An eyewitness told SCR News that the officer sustained serious injuries on the side of his chest and on the left leg when a police shot him in front of the Bank of South Sudan.He was rushed to the hospital.
Another eyewitness said the victim was shooting into the air when he was shot at.
Two machinegun bursts were heard in Juba at 3:40 pm followed by some two shots 20 minutes later.
The area around the Bank of South Sudan has been cordoned off and it is heavily patrolled by organized forces.
The new money was expected to arrive these days.
