The UN has reported heavy bombardment in and around Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, and another town.
Elisabeth Byrs, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), told reporters in Geneva that Delami has also been bombed and more than 2,000 people were displaced.She said displaced in Kadugli need food, water, medical services and shelter.
Aid workers have reported that key access roads and bridges require immediate repair, and mine clearance is critical.
