The SPLM Political Bureau has approved the party’s manifesto for the April 11 elections with freedom ranking first among its major priorities.
Addressing the press today, SPLM secretary general Pagan Amum said the central goals range from freedom to peace and prosperity.Mr. Amum added that SPLM will seek the peoples’ votes to complete the transition process from a dictatorship to a democratic regime.
Mr. Amum affirmed that the SPLM will build a comprehensive peace by fully implementing the CPA and other agreements and working hard to end the Darfur conflict.
Mr. Amum acknowledged that prosperity and national wealth shall be distributed equally to end marginalization in the country.
Mr. Amum said the SPLM shall provide free primary education, better health and social development.
The SPLM secretary general added that whatever the referendum result, the SPLM will ensure that there is no return to war.
