An official confirmed that the Kenyan football team will not play the South Sudan National squad on Sunday.
The official program of the independence scheduled a football match between South Sudan and Kenya on Sunday evening at Juba stadium.South Sudan Football Association Secretary of Treasury, Jaden Jada Solomon, who is also a Board member of South Sudan Football Federation, confirmed over the phone that Kenya’s Harambee Stars won’t come to Juba for the match.
Mr. Jada did not mention the reason for the Harambees to cancel their match.
A Kenyan football website Michezoafrika dot com writes that Kenyan Football team turned down the invitation due to tight fixtures at Kenyan Premier League.
The website added that Tusker FC instead will play South Sudan during Independence celebration.
