Local and international UNICEF staff held yesterday a journey of refection on challenges and experiences in South Sudan during the past years.
Godwin Mindra, a health specialist, said the event was a day of reflection on encounters and hardships faced by UNICEF’s staff, Bakhita Radio reported.He added that the reflection aimed at changing hardships into opportunities as South Sudan becomes an independent republic.
UNICEF directress for South Sudan Yasmin Ha said she was very privileged to witness the historic occasion of South Sudan’s independence.
She added that the UN agency wanted to listen to children and meet their priorities.
Dr. Ha said UNICEF plans to speed up its interventions in the fields of child health care, education and protection.
The UNICEF directress said the UN’s children fund looks forward to see children in South Sudan contributing as true citizens.
