Local government administrators drawn from the eight counties of Lakes State concluded yesterday a two-phase training to prepare for their new responsibilities in the Republic of South Sudan.

Director General in Lakes State Ministry of Local Government Enock Manyuon Malok told Good News Radio that 46 local administrators were graduating, including five female.

He explained that the training was a capacity building initiative geared at equipping them with vital skills to better perform their duties in the new nation of South Sudan.

Jane Namono, who led the training, said the graduation was a conclusion of a two-phase training that started in May.

She added that the training aimed at reorienting the government administrators to their roles and responsibilities to fit into the Republic of South Sudan.

Lakes State Governor Chol Tong Mayay presided over the graduation ceremony.

He thanked the Ministry of Local Government Board and the trainers for their role in the formation.

He said the government should make public service more attractive before the private sector hired skilled professionals.
