The new VIP stage at Rumbek’s Freedom Square will be ready for use this Saturday on time for the Independence celebrations.
The assurance comes from Amos Wambua, who is supervising the construction. He told Good News Radio that the stage was ready for roofing and it would be finished by tomorrow.He said the lack of funds for the building delayed its construction.
Mr. Wambua assured the public in Lakes State that the stage will be ready for use on Saturday.
He added that some minor works like painting will be done after the celebration.
Mr. Wambua revealed that after the independence the Lakes government is going to build a sitting place for common people next to the VIP’s stage and fence Freedom Square with a wall.
He added that the funds are ready and the entire project can be completed in six months.
The construction of the VIP stage, which can accommodate up to 200 guests, started three weeks ago.
