Children who gathered for a song and poem competition at Bakhita Radio this morning shared with SCR News their expectations for the new country.
Wani Pitia, a student from St. Comboni Secondary School said he wants a corrupt-free south Sudan.
He added that leaders and other people must also learn how to respect their fellow citizens.
Anguer Makuer from St. Joseph Primary School said she wants to see a peaceful and united South Sudan free from fighting.
She also added that education and health facilities must be improved.
Daniel Oryem from St. Comboni Secondary School said he wants the government to employ more people who can extract more oil.
He added that the oil revenue must be used in good spirit.
Stella Keji from St. Theresa Primary School said she wants the government to improve on infrastructures especially roads linking them to their schools, market places and other public places.
