The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wau, His Lordship Matthew Remijio Adam, has urged newly appointed Governor Sharif Daniel Sharif of Western Bahr el Ghazal State to prioritize security and stability to improve the lives of the citizens.

Speaking to the media during the governor’s courtesy visit to the Curia of the Catholic Diocese of Wau, Bishop Remijio described the visit as an honor. He expressed hope for a peaceful and productive start to the governor’s leadership.

The bishop appealed to Governor Sharif to focus on delivering essential public services — with special emphasis on enhancing security, sustaining peace, and promoting unity across the state.

He further expressed confidence that the citizens are placing their hope in the new governor’s leadership to bring about the services and stability they need.

Governor Sharif’s visit to the Diocese followed shortly after his official assumption of office on Monday, September 29, and marked the beginning of his consultations with key stakeholders as he prepares to govern the state.
