A group of women has been through a four-day training about fair representation and participation in local government.

The training organized by a community based organization (CBO) called Raise the Women’s Hope was attended by 23 women from Yei River, Morobo and Lainya counties.

Mary Apai is the advisor on investment and women empowerment in Central Equatoria state and chairperson of Raise the Women’s Hope. She told Easter Radio that the workshop aimed at building the capacity of the women as councillors on political participation.

She said women could improve their political career through the workshop and be encouraged to get involved in political affairs.

She added that her CBO was ready to train more women right from boma to payam levels in Central Equatorial State.
