Juba faithful are invited to take part in a day-long multi-faith reconciliation celebration to ready their hearts to welcome the gift of the new nation.
Sr. Cecilia Sierra Salcido is part of the organizing committee. She told SCR News that the Recondition Day takes place at Zahara Square, in Malakia (near Konyo Konyo) from 9 AM up to 5 PM.She added that although the event is spearheaded by the Catholic Church, other Christian and Muslim groups will animate the day with songs, preaching and prayers.
Sr. Sierra said it was critical to be reconciled in order to welcome the gift of the new nation.
She added that Reconciliation Day was a God-given opportunity for people to prepare for independence.
Sr. Sierra said Reconciliation Day was also an opportunity to pray for all the situations of brokenness in South Sudan and the Sudan at large.
She said it was a great sign to gather Christian Churches and the Muslim community to celebrate reconciliation.
