The faithful of St. Kizito Parish in Ngodakla, under the Catholic Diocese of Wau, gathered in celebration of the Feast of St. Kizito the Martyr on Tuesday.

During his homily, His Grace Bishop Matthew Ramijo Adam called on the faithful to use the occasion to renew their faith and reject practices that conflict with Church teachings.

The Bishop urged the faithful not to give in to the hardships of daily life but to remain steadfast witnesses of Christ through their actions.

He also cautioned against tribalism and discrimination, stating: “These behaviors distance people from the love of God.” During the celebration, more than 160 children received the Sacrament of Confirmation, marking a significant spiritual milestone for the parish community.

Fr. Gabriel Kuol Akech, Vicar General of the Diocese of Wau, stressed the importance of divine wisdom during the celebration of the Solemnity of the Ascension of Christ.

Reflecting on the teachings of St. Paul, Fr. Gabriel emphasized that human understanding alone is insufficient to grasp the mysteries of the Church.

“Without divine wisdom, we get lost, we mess up, and we don’t understand the mystery of the Church,” he said. He urged believers to pray for wisdom to guide their thoughts, words, and actions, adding: “Let us use our tongues, our eyes, and our brains for the glory of the mighty Father.”

Fr. Gabriel concluded by encouraging the faithful to keep praying for wisdom to inspire unity and good works within the Church.
