The Catholic Bishop of Rumbek has called on women and men religious and the faithful to turn to Jesus and be faithful to him who is the light of life.

Bishop Caesar Mazzolari presided the mass at Rumbek Cathedral yesterday, marking the feast of the Presentation of the Lord and the day of Consecrated Women and Men.

Bishop Mazzolari said Jesus came to take darkness away.

He added the faithful have to welcome Jesus as their savior as old Simeon did.

Bishop Mazzolari explained that the feast of the Presentation of the Lord celebrates the mandate given by Jesus to the Church to continue his work of salvation, because redemption is for all.

The bishop of Rumbek said the celebration was an occasion to renew the call to witness to the light of Christ to all nations.

Bishop Mazolari asked for prayers for all the religious and missionary in his diocese and all over the world for them to meet Jesus and bring his light to others.

Bishop Mazzolari concluded his homily asked the congregation to accept carrying the cross with Jesus who accompanies them in all their situations of life.
