Eastern Equatoria State Governor, Louis Lobong Lojore, has warned that the state is facing multiple challenges, including rebel activity, cattle raids, and an outbreak of cholera.
Lobong reported that the state has been under attack by four dangerous groups, including the Equatoria People’s Army, which he claims is responsible for recent cattle raids.
“The people of Eastern Equatoria are facing severe attacks,” Lobong said. “In Ikwoto County, there is a cholera outbreak, and we need to take precautions. These groups are causing serious harm, and our people are in danger.”
He also condemned the actions of cattle herders who are occupying land under the pretext of grazing, urging the people to defend themselves.
“The situation in Magwi County is dire, with many people confined without food or water,” Lobong added. “We must rise to defend our people.”
