Two Catholic nuns who were caught by the violent clashes that started last week in Kadugli, South Kordofan, arrived safe in El Obeid.
Catholic Bishop Michael Didi of El Obeid told SCR News over the phone that the two Comboni sisters arrived today, but he did not know where the parish priest of Kadugli was.Bishop Didi said the violent fighting in South Kordofan is creating displacement and insecurity in the area.
He added that people are afraid of being caught in cross-fire and run anywhere for safety.
The Bishop of El Obeid said that the displaced are in urgent need of help.
Bishop Didi said many displaced sought refuge in El Obeid and Khartoum.
He added that he feared both humanitarian workers and UNMIS forces could leave Kadugli and civilians would remain unprotected.
