Sudanese nationals living in Eastern Equatoria have expressed their gratitude to the South Sudanese government for ensuring their safety amid the ongoing violence in Sudan.

The unrest, following the brutal killing of South Sudanese citizens in Wad Madani, has caused concern among Sudanese traders and residents in South Sudan.

Yousif Mohamed Ismail, a Sudanese national residing in Hai Longute, commended the South Sudanese authorities for providing a secure environment.

“We are safe here, and our businesses are going smoothly. The government is working hard to ensure our security, and there is no reason to fear,” Ismail told Radio Emmanuel.

Similarly, Silliman Ibrahim, another Sudanese trader in Torit, emphasized that while some other states have experienced violence, Torit remains peaceful.

“In places like Juba and Bor, there have been clashes, but Torit has been peaceful. We continue our business operations without any interference. We are grateful for the peace here, and we hope it continues,” Ibrahim stated.
