Women Association set to prioritize women empowerment at different level

The Women Association in Western Bhar el Ghazal State Wau, has set strategies and new plans focusing on the empowerment of all the women within the State regardless of their different levels and backgrounds.

This comes as the newly elected office for the State Women Association strategize their new plans for 2025 according to their mandates which is meant to tackle women concerns.

Speaking during the Rangaya program, Julet Luka Modria, the secretary of information and education, recognizes that there are many groups of women in different areas within the State.

She therefore elaborates that the women association will use such groups to empower the women in different aspects especially on how they can stand firm for their rights and encourage public speaking.

On the other hand, Lucia Remijo Abakar, the secretary general, stresses on the importance of empowering the women leaders within the State indicating that they are the very people who represent all the women through their leadership positions.

She also encourages all the women to be confident enough and should not doubt their capabilities rather they should fully participate in every activity mandated to them.

Meanwhile, the chairperson of Women Association, Regina Edward Dimo,emphasizes on the importance of education citing that most of the women are still behind in term of learning.

She therefore calls on the women and young girls to prioritize education regardless of their ages.

“Women Association will work hard to ensure women and girls are committed to learning,” the chairperson narrates.

It is worth mentioned that the new office of the State’s Women Association have been elected on December 20th 2024 after the completion of the three Counties’ election including, Wau, Jur River and Raja County.

However the office is set to start with composing the constitution of the Association alongside activities that will boost in women empowerment in the whole State.
