GoSS Health Ministry has invited Centre for Disease Control to investigate a new disease outbreak in South Sudan.

The Director General for planning and research at the health ministry Samson Baba said the symptoms were reported in Mundri East, Mundri West, Raja, Magwi and Juba counties.

He added that the disease was observed among children from three to nine years old.

Mr. Baba alleged that the unknown disease reduces children’s appetite for food.

The study will be done in Western Equatoria where the disease was first observed.
