The Governor of Western Bahr el Ghazal, Emmanuel Primo Okello, has expressed deep appreciation for the church’s vital contribution to promoting peace and strengthening the faith of the citizens in the state.

During his visit to the Holy Trinity Center of St. Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, Governor Okello emphasized the significant role the church plays in the community, particularly in fostering a sense of unity and solidarity among the people.

Governor Okello spoke at length about the power of prayer and its role in overcoming challenges faced by both the state government and the church.

He noted that the struggles encountered by the government in its efforts to improve the lives of the people were not unlike the challenges the church confronts in its mission to guide and support the faithful.

As such, the Governor called for a collective approach, urging both the church and government to unite in prayer as they strive to address these issues together.

“We need citizens to celebrate Christmas in peace and harmony,” Governor Okello remarked, stressing the importance of peace during the festive season.

The governor called on all citizens to embrace the spirit of unity and to work together with the state government, organized forces, and community leaders to ensure a peaceful and joyful Christmas for everyone.

In his address, the Governor highlighted the significance of a peaceful holiday season, not just for personal enjoyment, but for the collective well-being of the entire community.

He underscored that peace is essential in enabling the state to continue its development efforts and in ensuring the safety and prosperity of its citizens.

Governor Okello’s remarks came during a special visit to the Holy Trinity Center of St. Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, where he joined the congregation in prayer.

The event was marked by an atmosphere of reverence and unity, as the Governor thanked the church for its continued role in promoting peace, offering spiritual guidance, and encouraging social cohesion in the region.

The Governor’s words resonated with the congregation, reminding them of the importance of prayer, faith, and collaboration in building a harmonious and thriving society.
