His Eminence Stephen Ameyu Martin Cardinal Mulla calls on the people of South Sudan to embrace Peace and reconciliation as Christians prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
Cardinal Ameyu urges South Sudanese to acknowledge Jesus as the ward-made flesh who comes to dowel among the people, bringing light and life to all believers during the festive season.
“This Christmas, let us acknowledge Jesus as the ward made flesh who come dowel among us, bringing light and life to all those who believe. Let us give one another light and live, not darkness, not death, but peace and reconciliation.”
While reading his Christmas message, Cardinal appeals to all peace lovers to love peace and be ready to celebrate the essence of their Christianity during the festive season.
“We call all peace lovers to love peace so that the love of God and peace of God may rain among God’s people and in this Christmas, let us be ready to celebrate the very essence of our Christianity. May we embrace the hope and joy and love that Christ brings.”
Let us share the good news of his birth, reflecting his life in our community so that our hearts may be filled with gratitude for the incredible gift of his Son who is a prince of Peace, “Mulla emphasized.”
He hopes for this Christmas season to be a time to embrace the spirit of peace that the Tumaini initiative embodies to come together as a community to share kindness and compassion with one another.
The Cardinal regrets the delay in the civil servant’s salary, calling on the government to pay the civil servants for peace to prevail.
“This Christmas again found us still complaining about the things of last year. The salaries last year were also delayed, and this year the salary for almost 12 months’ salary was not given to the workers, describing the situation of the civil servants as desperate.
Cardinal also regrets the ongoing violence of Tombura which resulted in the shorting of St. Mary’s Help of Christians.
Ameyu urges the government to resolve the tensions in Tombura so that the community can unite and live together.
