Residents of Western Bahr el Ghazal State have expressed growing frustration over the deteriorating condition of Kubri Sita bridge, which has severely obstructed movement and poses significant safety risks.

Speaking to Voice of Hope Radio on Thursday morning, concerned citizens called on the state government to urgently address the issue before it leads to accidents or further damage.

Several residents highlighted the dangers faced by children walking to school, emphasizing the daily risk they take when crossing the damaged bridge.“Our children walk to school every day, and this bridge is becoming more dangerous with each passing day. Something needs to be done to protect them.”

Motorists, especially boda boda riders, also shared their concerns, noting that the damaged road surface, combined with water on the bridge, creates a hazardous situation that could easily lead to serious accidents.

“For those of us who drive, especially on motorcycles, this bridge is a nightmare. The road is slippery, and the condition of the bridge makes it extremely risky. We fear accidents will happen soon if nothing is done.”

The residents are urging the state government to take swift action, as the bridge serves as the primary and often only route for many citizens in the area.

“This is the main path for so many people, and we don’t have an alternative route. The government must intervene before this situation gets worse.”

The residents made these urgent pleas during interviews with Voice of Hope Radio on Thursday morning at Kubri Sita in Wau.
